Gullfoss in Winter. The thunderous roar of Europe’s largest waterfall is not the only thing that makes you uneasy on your feet. Stood here on the edge of the immense falls with 1000s of gallons of glacier melt-water pounding in my ears. If is not unusual to feel the ground shake beneath your feet.
In the Winter it can be difficult and dangerous to get this close. Several tourists have lost their lives on simple sightseeing tours. Always take notice of the signs and notices. Generally a chain across a path mean “No Entry”. It is amazing how many people ignore such warnings.
Enjoy the nature but live long enought to tell others about your amazing Iceland sightseeing experiences.
Iceland has more published books than Icelanders.
