Jökulsarlon & South Coast
The trip along the South coast to the Vatnjökull region is an adventure packed photo tour with a wide variety of landscapes and nature.
Tour through some of the most diverse landscapes in Iceland.
This photo adventure encounters endless black sand deserts stretching from glacier capped volcanoes to the North Atlantic. Drive through hundreds of moss draped lava monsters in Europe’s largest lava field. Meet the locals and the friendly Icelandic horses. We cross huge river networks of glacier melt-water and huge lakes which are home to giant chunks of glacial ice and seal colonies. Sheer cliff edges show the scars of glaciers and are home to countless waterfalls and cascades.
The drive to Jökulsárlón is an amazing adventure, but too long to truly enjoy in a single day. Spreading the trip over 2 days gives you good opportunities for quality time at top locations. This popular overnight photo tour includes Jökulsarlon and the South coast. We are never far from the glacier lagoon, so we are in a good location if we are lucky enough to see auroras (winter) or to explore the lagoon through the midnight sunlight (Summer). Here we can also catch amazing sunrise images on the black sand beach with glacial ice.
