Ice Cave Photo Tours

Ice cave photo tours

Ice caves are an incredible adventure for the travel photographer. These natural caves are forged by glacier rivers which carve beautiful scallops on the walls of the cave. The ice is a deep blue and hard as steel. Ice cave exploring is about as close as you can physically get to a Natural Wonder.

Photography reveals so much more than the eye as photographs expose the deeper colours and patterns along the ceiling of the ice cave. It is not an easy setting to photograph because you have to compose upside-down. You have to have a good eye to spot details and textures over your head. Having an experienced photo guide is a great investment. Not only will you have your camera gear set up correctly before entering the ice cave, but you will know what to expect in terms of challenges. You guide will help you capture the best of the cave.

On a photo tour or workshop, you will have the advantage of being with photo guides who have taken pictures in this strange environment many times.

Ice caves are dangerous!

We only use experienced glacier guides on our photo tours and workshops. These guides work together to assess the safety of the cave and if they don’t think it is safe, we don’t take risks.
