Full Circle – Around Iceland

This multi-day tour will take you around Iceland in 7 days. It is a combination of many of our multi-day tours with time to relax and enjoy many key areas around Iceland’s coastline.

Iceland has a rich variety of landscapes and seascapes and this tour is designed to enhance that variety. Capture Iceland’s full diversity as a travel photographer.

Seven day schedule

  1. Golden circle – Thingvellir,Geysir & Gullfoss
  2. South Coast – Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss, Black sand beaches
  3. Glacier Lagoons – Jökulsarlon & Ice beach
  4. East Coast – Vestrahorn to Reyðarfjörður
  5. Northern – Dettifoss, Namafell & Goðafoss
  6. North West – Hvitserkur & Hraunfossar
  7. Snæfellsness – Budir, Arnarstapi & Kirkjufell

Around Iceland

These are just the main locations to give you a sense of direction. The tour will include many more lesser known photo locations with a chance to escape the tour buses and crowds.

Golden circle

The Golden circle is a relaxed introduction to Iceland’s national treasures. the geology and history at Thingvellir is a great introduction to Iceland that will stay with you through the whole trip. Erupting Geyser

Geysir We will always include a few other lesser known locations to give great variety. Such as horses, churches and smaller waterfalls.

South Coast

The South Coast has several great photo stops. We include the popular Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss and the black sand beaches at Vik. Iceland Seljalandsfoss – There can be good light in the evenings. In the Summer, the sun sets in the North Western sky, it is possible to capture incredible sunsets from behind the falls. Seljalandsfoss Summer sun

Skogafoss Winter There are many secrets spots on this route to get you away from the tour buses & crowds.

Jökulsarlon is undoubtedly the best place to photograph glacier ice.

East Coast

Iceland’s east coast offers relaxing routes through the many fjords. There are quaint fishing villages and a sprinkling of decent coast stops for landscape photographers. Great for Northern lights!

North Iceland

The North is feature rich and has impressive waterfalls and geothermal hot-spots.

These are just some of the amazing features on the Northern leg of this photo adventure. Godafoss blue Goðafoss works well in evening light all year round. This tight schedule should give you a chance to see Goðafoss in good evening light.

Snæfellsnes Peninsular

The Snæfellsnes peninsular features some of Iceland’s best sea-scapes and the most photographed mountain. This leg of the tour will give you prime time at Kirkjufellsfoss as well as the famous black church at Buðir. The hotel is close to Kirkjufell, so you can enjoy Northern lights as well as sunrise & sunset.

Seasons: Running all year

Timings:

Winter (Mid Sept – Mid April ) start times are around 09.30. We shoot regular hours which could include night shooting for Auroras and sunrise/set on the ice beach.

Summer (Mid April – Mid Sept)
The tour could start after 14.00 in the Summer. Mid-Summer, this could involve shooting through the night hours (22.00-06.00) and sleeping in tents during the day.

  • Includes pick-up and drop-off from the Reykjavik area.
  • Includes accommodation for the duration of the tour.
  • Suitable for photographers of all levels.
  • Private for your small group

Meals

Breakfast is normally include in the Hotel. We usually eat evening meal in Restaurants. Prices are between $20-$40 for a main meal. But we can be flexible if you wanted to cater for yourselves

Accommodation:

We stay overnight near the locations in a guesthouse or hotel (winter) or Camp locally (Summer)*. Your accommodation will be arranged for the duration of the tour, let us know your preferences. Guest rooms have private bathrooms. Rooms can be single, twin, double or triple.

Glacier Activities

This photo tour gets close to a few glaciers, so why not consider some nature activities on and under the glaciers? Standard ice cave tours (Crystal cave) can be booked directly with the tour, but you might want to consider upgrading to an ice cave adventure.

The Golden Circle photo tour route may allow time for activities with local tour providers. Some of these are extreme tours, so please check for requirements and restrictions.
