Blue glacier ice on the diamond beach. I took this with a Hasselberg medium format camera. The details are stunning on a large print.
I loved to capture the interaction between all the elements in this amazing Iceland location.
The iceberg came from the Vatnjokull Ice cap in East Iceland. It rested on the Diamond beach at Jokulsarlon before being washed into the Atlantic Ocean.
The Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon is next to the diamond beach. The lagoon’s smaller icebergs, which had been there for months, are swept into the ocean. These miniature icebergs are washed back onto the diamond beach by the ocean waves. The icebergs can occasionally be driven back into the Glacier lagoon by strong tides. This Icelandic seaside view featured crystal-clear glacier ice. They are backlit by the morning sun, which gives them a cosy winter hue.
