Gullfoss waterfall is the largest waterfall complex in Iceland. Gullfoss has two levels of cascade which funnel thousands of gallons of glacier meltwater into a deep canyon.
I took this Iceland waterfall photo from a very dangerous place on a January morning. This was in 2010 when access to the slippery slopes of Gullfoss waterfall was much freer. I was wearing ice crampons to prevent me slipping. I wouldn’t recommend it though. One trip & there is not a lot to stop me plunging to certain death. Was it worth the risk? Absolutely!
