Goðafoss is the waterfall of the Gods. The horse-shoe waterfall in the middle of North Iceland was one of my favourite places to be.
I took this photo of Goðafoss on a summer night. I arrived around 03.00 ready for the sunrise.
The position of the rock is important, I have tried many times since, but never got it in the right position.
The long exposure smooths out the water making it look like the mossy rock is gently resting on silk. The smoothed out silky river slightly reflects the waterfall.
