The Icelandic winter has it own special challenges.

These tours are designed for the photographers who desire challenges.

In the winter, the days are very short and the nights are long. Travel is often very difficult and often dangerous, tackling an Arctic winter landscape in the dark is very challenging but also very rewarding.

The rewards for long exposures and tackling these challenging landscapes are stunning star trails, captivating cloud trails, northern lights and crystal clear solar systems.

IcelandAurora Photographic will take you there and show you how. Basic provisions are provided such as battery charging, data backup and night equipment such as lights and tripods. Photographers are expected to come equipped with at least one healthy battery, a remote trigger for long exposures.

Weather cannot be guaranteed, even on the night, so be prepared to shoot in all weathers and a full range of subjects in a full range of conditions. These tours are not for the impatient as long exposures up to 30 minutes could be necessary.

Included: total transport and photographic advise. Some photography equipment (depending on make and model) and some cold weather assistance.

Not included: Camera, food.

Be prepared and then prepare again. Dress with layers and be sure to have protection for all parts of your body. Choose boots and clothes with water resistant properties.
