Iceland – February photo tour
This video was shot on a tour in February. Shots are taken from the East coast at Vesturhorn, the beach at Jökulsarlon and Kirkjufellsfoss in Grundarfjorður. The music is a home recording with an online collaboration with Bagwar ‘Cigar monkey’. It is called ‘Hello’.

This video is a make up of HD footage shot through the windscreen as I was driving. The roads were very icy and the slow speeds help to create a really smooth video. I also used still frames for time-lapse with 2 and 5 second settings. All footage was shot with the GoPro Hero 2. Please share if you enjoy it.

Time-lapse photography in Iceland winter with Gopro Hero II Shot over a 6 day tour with a family from England. This footage is mostly in the South East of Iceland with particular focus on the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. My new GoPro Hero 2 was on its debut outing and mostly I was using 2 frames per second for the time-lapse. On the panning scenes, I had the GoPro mounted on a kitchen timer which revolved at a rate of 360 degrees an hour.

I have spent a lot of time creating these videos of the ice on the beach at Jökulsárlón. After many hours of effort I upload them to youtube and then decide that they are extremely boring. This latest video was based around the decision to add more variety and to change scenes on average every 5 seconds. The viceo is one of my longest and contains footage from the Eyjafjallajökull last year and some Northern lights – aurora time lapse from a few years ago. This was shot as I walked slowly along the beach toward the famous Reynisdrangar sea stacks. My camera was mounted on my tripod which I was holding upside down very close to the sand. I wasn’t really happy with the jerky quality but after rendering it black and white with some noise I think it has some artistic quality.
