Winter driving in Iceland
Dangers of speed and inexperience On a recent tour, we were driving past Pétursey on the South Coast… On the side of the road was an overturned Mitsubishi Pajero. I was just about to point this out as an example of why you should drive slowly on the icy roads when I spotted people crawling out from under the wreck. It occurred to me that this had just happened and I had to stop to help. This video is a make up of HD footage shot through the windscreen as I was driving. The roads were very icy and the slow speeds help to create a really smooth video. I also used still frames for time-lapse with 2 and 5 second settings. All footage was shot with the GoPro Hero 2. Please share if you enjoy it.

Time-lapse photography in Iceland winter with Gopro Hero II Shot over a 6 day tour with a family from England. This footage is mostly in the South East of Iceland with particular focus on the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. My new GoPro Hero 2 was on its debut outing and mostly I was using 2 frames per second for the time-lapse. On the panning scenes, I had the GoPro mounted on a kitchen timer which revolved at a rate of 360 degrees an hour.

Yesterday on a tour we arrived at Seljalandsfoss. I gave the members of my group a pair of microspikes each and we headed to the icy waterfall. As we approached I was instructing my group about the safety issues and I noticed some tourists were behind the falls. Suddenly I heard a man screaming loudly and I looked over to see a woman sliding defencelessly down the frozen bank towards the waterfall.
